My Personal Bio Poster and Timeline

I reworked it from the critique. I was inspired by others who used their sketches in their piece. Sketches are such an important indicator of a designers personality and process so I decided to emphasize how I get from my pencil sketches to my digital products. The lines add some similarity between the two pieces. I am a huge movie fan so the layout was roughly modeled after key art for a movie.

My timeline is based on myself as a digital artist rather than a sketcher. The width of the line pattern relates to how much said event impacted me as an artist. The time is also proportionately spaced in order to give an accurate feel of time. Since it focuses on the past, my type elements were made to look like video game graphics from when I was little while still matching the digital motif.

Lens Flares in Star Trek (Loved um!)

While researching how I am going to do my lens flare alphabets I came across this clip. I wanted to share it. I wish I had the equipment to organically make my type face but I don't.

Illustrative Type From the web

This is pretty amazing. I'd like to use a typeface like this.

For you feather enthusiasts.

Good example of drawn type. Good use of color to add that extra bit of personality.

Similar to the first one. The fragments really bring the word to life.

Some Past Work

I could not decide which of my pieces were the best. I like most of them a lot of different reasons so I just grabbed a few to show. Hopefully they show a little variety.

Improved Dragon's Horde Stationery

I simplified the business card and added the same kind of illustration style I have on my ads and specialty items. The idea is that every employee or at least major employees would have a card with comic book version of their self in order to make the comic book world seem more real at Dragon's Horde. My envelopes no longer have the pattern inside. It is only on the back of the papers and business card. I decided to add a normal envelope. The larger is for perhaps shipping comic books.

Dragon's Horde Ads

These are my three ad layouts for Dragon's Horde. I chose to go with pure illustration for this company in order to help emerse the viewer into a comic book realm. For this in particular, I made up and illustrated extreme fans and collectors since that is the target audience for the company. For each ad I targeted major genre of product that the store sells.

Dragon's Horde Earth Day Poster

The idea was to show a super hero protecting the trees and connect that idea with recycling comic books via the copy.
